So this week was wet.
It rained 5 out of the 7 days non stop. It came in waves of a mist to a downpour back to a mist then back to a down pour and yeah... Water is wet. Its a blessing we have a car (thank all the gods, Odin and the like) because it would flipping stink to be out in the rain. But all this rain sparked a new obsession i want to do while im here... Mushroom hunting. Like what the heck where'd that interest come from? I have no idea but one day i literally woke up and was like "dude i wanna go find some mushrooms in the forests" so were gunna go get some shroom books from the library and see if we can get a group together with the older youth and their friends and go forage some shrooms!
Anyways back to the week haha. So we had dinner at our mission leaders house, but we timed lessons wrong and we had like 30 mins to spare, but we were already out in Noti. Sooooooo with like 200 miles left to kill before the end of the month we took a mountain pass road into some deep fire roads in the back woods. Our poor chevy cruze, pampered by the sisters before we got it... probably has never experienced mudding until we got it! We didnt actually go mudding though... It was just a bit of a muddy road that was fun to drive through and see the mountain forests. There was thick fog and misty rain. It felt very Skyrim like, or Lord of the Rings like (for the non gamers out there), as we got out and looked around, but it felt like i was in Skyrim. Ugh im SUCH A NERD HAHA! But we got some cool pictures and headed back to dinner.
The day and night of Halloween was filled with heavy rains. In the morning we and two older sets of elders who came out to help us, set out and destroyed an old ladies rotted out porch. It rained the whole time, so she made us all chicken noodle soup and corn bread. It as very sweet of her and she appreciated the help. We then put gravel down so she could get some planters in.
That evening after dinner, we had to be home and weren't allowed to go out. But, elder myers and i were prepared. Myers enjoys the classy life, sooooo we went to the store before hand and bought some fine cheeses and the nicest bottle of sparkling cider Veneta had to offer! We then played the night away with a game of monopoly (which i got destroyed in) and then went to bed early cuz why not.
Sunday came, and it rained all morning, but then lifted off a bit during the afternoon.
Its about 9:30pm now, and its sprinkling again, but it looked like a ton more rain was coming based on the clouds. Its daylight savings or something like that dunno. So i think were one hour behind AZ. Arizona doesn't do daylight savings or whatever that lame crap is so yeah its weird.
Anyways i should probably talk about the investigators, like a good missionary would haha. We got one on date, our 9 year old. Our older one, the one i talked to my first day out, moved to springfield and we haven't been able to meet with him for almost a month. So were gunna shoot his info to the elders there and see if he wants to pick up. We got several other progressing investigators, and sunday had a guy walk up to us in the car and ask when church was. I guess he's a less active but wants to go to church and has an 11 year old son who wants to be baptized, so thats like totally random but flipping sweet!
But yeah, we've been contacting a lot of less active and part member families because my last comp and i basically tracted the whole town in the first few weeks. So far its been fairly successful, and they tend to be nicer than random people on doorsteps, which has been good for me.
But yeah... Its starting to really rain now... Myers says its pretty much like this for the next 4-5 months, and that he'll be home in texas while its cold here haha. He goes home in 4 weeks so he likes to rub it in haha... Whatever! Work is good!
Love ya!

So we had a service trail hike thing that took us through the “Oregon Country Fair" grounds.... Just google that and it should explain what goes on there... Its crazy
{Mom pulled this up on wikipedia:
The Oregon Country Fair (OCF) is a nonprofit organization, and an annual three-day fair held outside the city limits of Veneta, Oregon, United States. Located in the Willamette Valley, the site is about 13 miles west of Eugene along the Long Tom River near the unincorporated community of Elmira. Annual attendance is approximately 45,000, and the fair has around 960 booths each year.
The event is known as an outgrowth of the counter-culture*** movement, and for using environmentally-friendly practices during the fair. The fair is a family event with face painting, puppet shows, and music for children. Toplessness is permitted while nudity is not allowed during public hours in public areas. No alcohol is allowed and smoking is limited to designated areas.
