So this week was cool. It started off super well, we got a bunch of
referrals and new investigators so we were super stoked. But then,
reality hits ya in the face and everything falls through. Wednesday,
Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday all fell through. So what do we
do when there is nothing else to do? Tract. So we did that for literally
every day, all day, and nothing solid at all came from it. Freaking
frustrating really. The problem is that the "city" area near us is so
small, you can tract the whole spot in 2-3 days easy. And that's been
done like twice since we've been here. The country part is harder to
hit because we need a car to do that, which we only have a few days at
a time. So, we're at a standstill somewhat. We still are teaching the
few that still meet with us, but getting new people is pretty slow.
Though, there is a companionship that is in our district that probably
will need exchanges at least once a week so they don't kill each
other, so hopefully that will shake things up. One is pretty stickler
with rules, the other is not so much. So they clash pretty hard. But
they are both good guys nonetheless! Hopefully the exchanges will
shake things up!
On the other hand, I learned how to take fat ties and make them skinny
so they are in style. So we've been finding some fat ties with cool
patterns, and then making them thinner and better looking! So that's a
fun little trick I learned.
This morning we got up and went and "raided" a less active members
house. By that we mean we went in with him, and cleared out all his
cigarettes in his house. We had a "call to repentance" lesson with him
and his two kids. His oldest just turned 8 and wants to be baptized,
and the father wants to baptize her really bad. So we made a plan to
quit smoking, went over this morning, grabbed his cigs and tossed them
all out. Pretty cool to see how determined he was about it, and he's
excited to stop smoking so he can get the priesthood to baptize his
kids. Cool stuff man, change is tough but always worth it!
